Hi Debi,

I’m looking thru your site and it’s nice that your offering up different sizes and kinds of work.

Debi,

The only thing that I’m noticing is that red in the upper left on the sign has my eye going sraight to it and staying there I’m not sure but making that Shadow on the building deeper darker and richer might help balance it out maybe add some red mixed with a wash of grey/blue to help echo the spot of red in the picture?

Let me know what you went with.

Beautiful painting. I really like the fact that while the painting shows very cold snow there is still some nice color to it.

Hi Kathy, right now I’m saving it for a juried exhibit, but I’ll put it out with a price when it’s available. I think I’m going to add a figure walking on the railroad tracks.

Hi Kathy,
I took some classes from local artists. You learn as much from the other students as from the teacher, usually. What helps me the most is watching how artists paint, so I’d recommend videos if you can’t get to a class. The Pennsylvania Watercolor Society has a big library of videos and tapes that members can borrow free. I don’t know where you’re at, but hopefully, there will be an art or watercolor group in your area. If all else fails, you can never go wrong studying the ‘masters’ and your local library will have books on those. Go for it!
