Aahhh, "pride", the downfall of so many people. It's walking that fine line that makes us crazy. How many times have we heard someone comment on a successful/talented person ..."and he's such a nice guy!" We teach our kids that they can do/become anything they like and hope to boost their self esteem only to tell them not to brag. It's like teaching them to walk/talk and then expecting them to sit & be quiet. But you're exactly right Debi. Wishin' & hopin' isn't going to get it done. It is hard to share my accomplishments with others sometimes — and I'm in marketing! But I agree you have to spread the word. It's nice to hear that it's "okay to brag" - after all, it takes a huge investment of time and lots of hard work in order to get all those kudos! We deserve it! Great insight, Debi. I'm finding that putting my artwork up on Facebook and becoming a member of many of the FB Art Groups has provided me with tremendous feedback. I've received many compliments from artists around the world. When I see the artwork of some of the these artists I am humbled and amazed that they think my work is good. It's a REALLY good feeling and allows me to feel a little better about "bragging"....... but it's still hard! Great article Debi.
